Dr. Dan Fuert Gray was born on March 30, 1894 at Olive Furnace in Lawrence County, Ohio. He was the son of Dr. Clinton G. and Ida L. Feurt Gray. He had four siblings, Clinton, Pauline E., Bundy M. and Juliet.
Like his father, Dan went into medicine. He and his father both worked at Gray’s Sanitarium or Gray Gables, as it was later known as, in Hanging Rock. Dan eventually sold the Gray Sanitarium because it became too expensive to upkeep.
During his time in Ironton, Dr. Dan Gray also worked at the Roosevelt Hospital.
Dan married Florence Frazer. The couple had four children, Eloise, Walter, Dan Lee, and William.
In 1922, Dan left Ironton for Guthrie, Oklahoma. He continued to practice medicine until illness stopped him.
He died on Friday, February 25, 1955 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
