Dr. Charles E. Williams was an osteopath and practiced medicine in the Citizens Bank Building in downtown Ironton. At that point in history, osteopaths focused on the health of the whole person rather than the specific disease or illness. Founded by Andrew Taylor Still, M.D. in the late 1800s, osteopaths relied heavily on the manipulation of bones and joints to treat ailments.
